| Portrait Abstract |
Recently graduated from Western State Colorado University with a BFA in art and a focus in watercolor painting, Jacy Jacobson has just begun to launch her career as a new artist. After graduation, she decided to take some time off to travel and gain inspiration for her work. Her travels include such places as Phuket, Thailand, South Africa, England, Mexico, and most recently, Spain. While she has lived most of her life in Buena Vista, CO, she has made it a point to paint in a way that "incorporate[s] art into all parts of this world" (Jacy).
Jacy has been surrounded by art for most of her life; by now, it has become an integral part of who she is. "I have always enjoyed painting, drawing, and photographing the things that I see around me... A life without art is not much of a life at all" (Jacy). Aside from art in general, she also has a heart to travel the world and expose people to its diversity and richness in culture. Over the past few years, she has been "provided with the amazing opportunity to travel and see parts of the world that not many people will get the chance to visit. I am very excited about the opportunity to sell my artwork and be able to travel and see more gorgeous and amazing things" (Jacy).
At this point, Jacy is currently back in Golden in hopes of launching her career as an artist. Her passion is to do what she loves to do. Art. The world around us is full of beauty just waiting to be captured, and she hopes that she can continue to travel and do just that.

Style: Painting/Watercolor
Watercolor painting is a very popular form of artwork that is open to a variety of differing styles. The pictures above demonstrate a looser form whereas many prefer a tighter style with more exact detail. Classes in this style of painting can be found in a number of places locally. A notable artist, Janet Nunn, offers watercolor classes throughout the year ranging from intense on day sessions to month long classes.
Her schedule of offerings can be found on her webpage http://janetnunnwatercolors.com/training-schedule.html
